Job summary

Montage International is seeking a Ski Tuner/Bike Mechanic to support our luxury resort operations. You will service ski equipment and bikes, perform tune-ups, and ensure rental fleet readiness in a back-of-house environment.

The role requires strong customer interaction, meticulous maintenance, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays in a premium hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in ski tuning.
• Minimum of one year experience in a luxury hotel preferred.
• Excellent telephone etiquette is required.
• Exceptional guest recovery skills are essential.
• Enjoy interacting with people in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills are a must.
• Must be dependable and available to work weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist activities attendants with ski rental equipment and bike rentals to guests.
• Maintain ski shop knowledge of waxing, base repair, tune machine setup and maintenance.
• Ensure rental shop setup and flow of equipment.
• Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual testing of bindings in rental fleet.
• Drive ski tuning revenue and keep rental fleet in excellent condition.
• Assemble new bikes and perform quality control checks.
• Match customers with bikes and equipment to fit their needs.
• Repair bikes from full overhauls to quick walk-in fixes.
• Perform routine maintenance on bicycles and log maintenance records.

Ski Tuner/Bike Mechanic

The Ski Tuner and Bike Mechanic is responsible for assisting activities attendants with ski rental equipment and bike rentals while creating a professional back of house atmosphere.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensure strong ski shop knowledge of waxing, base repair, tune machine set up and maintenance
• Maintain rental shop set up and flow of equipment
• Ensure weekly, monthly, and annual testing of binding in rental fleet
• Drive ski tuning revenue; and ensure rental fleet is in best condition, properly waxed and maintained at all times
• Must become familiar with all services and standards within the hotel
• Assemble new bikes and perform quality control checks
• Ability to match customers with the bike, equipment and accessories that best fit their physical needs and ability levels
• Repair bikes to the highest of standards, including assessing damage and estimating repairs (from complete overhauls to quick walk-in repairs)
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on bicycles (e.g., cleaning, changing tires, make adjustments).
• Keep a detailed service log and input all maintenance documentation on software for tracking and inventory management
• Respond to customer requests for assistance or repairs.
• Maintain proper maintenance inventory and supplies.
• Ability to diagnose bike issues and recommend additional parts & labor when necessary
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of one years’ experience in a luxury hotel preferred
• Minimum of two years’ experience in ski tuning
• Excellent telephone etiquette

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing. Some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) will be required.
