Job summary

Arapahoe Basin is hiring a Ski & Ride School Operations Supervisor to bridge business goals with on-snow excellence. You will work with the leadership team to foster authenticity and a guest-centered culture, ensuring every day is outstanding for guests and staff.

You will supervise 25+ pros, manage 60+ staff, and drive opportunities to improve the guest experience while aligning with Arapahoe Basin’s vision and strategy. Strong PSIA‑AASI Level 1 and CS1 credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years Snowsports instruction experience.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to use scheduling and inventory software (RTP and Flaik).
• Strong guest service, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Ski & Ride School with 25+ pros.
• Schedule staff of 60+ to meet business volumes.
• Coach, support, and evaluate instructors; enforce policies.
• Develop and drive business opportunities to enhance guest experience.
• Recruit, hire, and train department staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Coordinate private and group lessons and tickets; manage RTP/Flaik.

Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors , including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, and responsibilities. The range listed is just one component of Arapahoe Basin’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.Hourly pay range: $22.75 - $30.75/hourESSENTIAL DUTIES:Daily supervision of 25+ pros which includes prepping the Kids Center, printing tickets, running line up, distributing classes, etc.Scheduling a staff of 60+ to ensure the Snow Sports School is set-up to meet business volumesEnforce and support company and department policies and proceduresCoach, support, and evaluate prosOversee Ski & Ride School daily operations; assign staff to daily duties; modify daily plan as necessary to meet daily departmental financial goalsIndependently develop and drive business opportunities to enhance the guest experienceLead and develop a guest-centered culture that supports A-Basin’s vision and strategyAssist in department recruitment, hiring, training, and development of policies and proceduresConduct instructor observations and appraisalsRecord instructor discussions, which may include corrective actionsFulfill and schedule private and group lessons/tickets in RTP and FlaikFollow all department sustainability guidelines as expectedPerform other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:At least 3 years of previous Snowsports instructionPrevious supervisory experience requiredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to effectively and efficiently use scheduling and inventory software (RTP and Flaik )Excellent communication, interpersonal, guest-service, and problem-solving skillsAbility to be self-motivated and self-directed while performing multiple tasksMust be available on weekends and holidaysMust provide own ski or snowboard equipment and other necessary gear to work outside in a high-alpine, snowy, and cold environmentThis position requires successful completion of a background checkEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentCurrent with PSIA-AASI, Level 1 Certification and CS1PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to withstand high-altitude conditions at all times while standing or skiingAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, squat, crawl, push, pull, throw, and stretchAbility to ski at an advanced level for up to 3 hours per shiftTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily- reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.WORKING CONDITIONS:This position will work outdoors in a high-alpine environment in all types of weather conditions. Most work is performed in a highly trafficked and loud area in view of guests. This role involved continuous guest interaction: face-to-face, over the phone, and by email.
