Job summary

Angel Fire Resort’s Slopeside Ski Shop is hiring Ski Rental Technicians to assist guests with rental equipment and to tune gear for optimal performance. You will work as part of a team in a busy, customer-facing environment and help ensure quality service throughout the season.

Base pay starts at $17/hr depending on experience, with shifts typically 8am-5pm and potential night shifts. Attendance on weekends and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in a ski rental shop is a plus.
• Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests in selecting rental skis, boots, and boards.
• Set bindings and adjust DIN according to manufacturer specs.
• Inspect returned gear for damage and cleanliness.
• Maintain organization of tools, parts, and inventory.
• Operate ski tuning equipment and perform maintenance on rentals.
• Handle guest questions and manage waivers and rental forms.

Angel Fire Resort is now hiring for passionate Ski Rental Technicians to join our team this winter! Slopeside Ski Shop is located at the base of the mountain and caters to many of our guests in their ski gear needs. Ski Rental Techniciansare responsible for fitting customers with rental equipment including skis, snowboards, and boots. A successful technician will provide excellent customer service, have attention to detail with all tuning and adjustments, and will maintain a positive attitude in a demanding environment. Technicians will work as a team with the rest of the rental and retail department in the overall success of the shop.

Base Pay:Starts at $17/hrdepending on experience

Required Certs or Licenses:Marker Ski Binding Certification (can be obtained within the first few days of employment).

Attendance:Regular, predictable, punctual, and in-person attendance is essential, includes weekends and holidays as scheduled

Estimated start date:Early November

Typical Shift:8am-5pm but night shift schedules may be available as well

Qualifications:Prior rental shop experience is a plus; however, training will be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:

• Answers questions concerning cost of items, features of items, resort activities, hours of operation, weather conditions, etc.
• Ensures that guests accurately complete the waiver of liability and rental forms.
• Selects proper rental skis for guests based on their needs.
• Sets binding DINS according to binding manufacturer’s requirements.
• Checks in returned rental skis and inspects for damage.
• Tracks, stores, and maintains the organization of tools, parts, and inventory.
• Works with power tools.
• Properly uses and maintains ski tuning machinery according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop and proper storage of all equipment.
• Routinely tests bindings for safety (torque test) and records information in maintenance logs.
• Repairs and maintains rental fleet including periodic tuning of all skis.
• Repairs skis and snowboards including: applying P-Tex on gouges and scratches, applying base patches, beveling, edge replacements and de-laminations.
• Becomes knowledgeable on proper wax selection and how to mount a vast array of bindings.
• Appropriately handles complaints and resolves grievances to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assists customers with electronic storage lockers when necessary.
• Assists Manager in special projects and facility maintenance.

Environment:This is an indoor position. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and regularly lift/carry 50lbs.
