Job summary

Mammoth Mountain is seeking a Senior Ski Patroller to join our Mountain Rescue team in Mammoth Lakes, CA. You will support the Ski Patrol Director and Managers in daily operations and lead staff through training and performance reviews.

Ideal candidates demonstrate calm, rational decision-making under pressure, and excellent communication across departments. Prior TT-C certification and experience with explosives for avalanche control are required.

Qualifications

• Meet the Mammoth Mountain Senior Ski Patroller TT-C requirements.
• Ability to lead avalanche control routes and deploy explosives.
• Capable of managing complex medical or rescue incidents.
• Capable of serving as primary patrol dispatcher when needed.
• Demonstrated decision-making in high-stress situations.
• Strong communication with patrol, management and other departments.
• Mentor TT-B and TT-C personnel in daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Ski Patrol Director, Assistant Director, and Managers in leading the patrol staff in daily operations while caring for guests as a member of a professional mountain rescue team.
• Develop staff through daily mentorship, facilitating training, and completing performance reviews.
• Foster a positive, harassment-free environment through mutual respect and an inclusive work environment.
