Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company at Solitude Mountain Resort is seeking a Medical Specialist for the Seasonal Full Time Ski Patrol team. This non-supervisory role focuses on EMT training, medical records maintenance, and on-mountain care.

You will coordinate first aid and EMT training, document training outcomes, and support patrol leadership with data and compliance. Utah EMT credentials and BLS CPR instruction are required, as is the ability to train patrollers in EMT-level skills.

Qualifications

• Must be employed as a Solitude Mountain Patroller
• Expert medical and first aid skills
• Ability to conduct medical/injury related rescues
• Ability to teach EMT level skills
• UT State Certified EMT trainer
• Ability to attain NREMT Training Officer credential
• Ski Patrol Level 1 or above

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee first aid and EMT training with patrol management
• Properly document all medical training
• BLS CPR Trainer for Patrol Staff
• Identify trends and coordinate patroller remedial training
• Train patrol in incident documentation
• Prepare training updates in line with EMS protocols
• Coordinate training with patrol management to create a seasonal calendar
• Maintain an inventory of medical and first aid equipment
• Order needed medical supplies within patrol budget
• Repair medical equipment as needed
• Mark Solitude equipment and ensure return from hospital ERs
