Job summary

Solitude Mountain Resort is seeking a Medical Specialist/Ski Patroller during the seasonal period to coordinate on-mountain medical training and maintain EMT records. You will demonstrate expert on-mountain medical and first-aid skills, conduct medical/injury rescues, and teach EMT level skills to fellow patrollers.

The role requires BLS CPR instructor capabilities and Utah EMT credentials, with the ability to attain NREMT Training Officer credential.

Qualifications

• EMT level skills required on mountain.
• BLS CPR Instructor credential preferred.
• Ability to teach EMT level skills to patrollers.
• Strong on-mountain injury management experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee EMT/first-aid training with patrol management.
• Document all medical training and maintain EMT records.
• Provide BLS CPR training for patrol staff.
• Identify training needs from trends and coordinate remedial training.
• Train patrol in incident documentation.
• Prepare and update seasonal training calendar.
• Maintain medical equipment inventory and order supplies.

This position is responsible for maintaining National and Utah EMT records for ski patrol. The Medical Specialist reports directly to the Director of Patrol, Ski Patrol Manager, and Ski Patrol Supervisor.
