Job summary

Solitude Mountain Resort is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Medical Specialist to maintain EMT records, provide on-mountain medical training, and support the ski patrol team. This role reports to Patrol leadership and is part of the Ski Patrol Union, with CME hours and hands-on training responsibilities to uphold safety standards on the mountain.

The ideal candidate will hold Utah EMT credentials and possess the ability to conduct rescues, teach EMT skills, and develop training programs aligned

Qualifications

• Must be employed as a Solitude Mountain Patroller.
• Demonstrate expert medical and first aid skills.
• Ability to conduct medical/injury related rescues.
• Teach EMT level skills to patrollers.
• Must hold BLS CPR Instructor certification.
• Utah State EMT trainer certification.
• Ability to attain NREMT Training Officer credential.
• Ski Patrol Level 1 or above.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee first aid and EMT training with patrol management.
• Document all medical training.
• BLS CPR Trainer for Patrol Staff.
• Identify training gaps and provide remedial training.
• Train patrol in incident documentation.
• Prepare training updates per EMS protocols.
• Coordinate training to create seasonal calendar.
• Maintain inventory of medical and first aid equipment.
• Order needed medical supplies within patrol budget.
• Repair medical equipment such as splints.
• Mark Solitude equipment and manage returns from hospitals.
