Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan, seeks a Ski Instructor for the winter season to teach private and group lessons through the Snowsports School. Compensation starts at $15 per hour and may reflect certifications and lesson assignments; employee housing may be available for qualifying candidates.

You will promote mountain safety, deliver engaging instruction across ages, and contribute to a positive guest experience while adhering to resort policies.

Competenze

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Proficient downhill skiing.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in teaching, coaching, childcare, recreation, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
• PSIA/AASI certification or willingness to pursue certification.
• PSIA/AASI membership and certification reimbursement may be available.

Ski Instructors are responsible for teaching and supervising private and group lessons through the Treetops Snowsports School. Instructors provide guests with safe, engaging, and enjoyable learning experiences while promoting skill development and mountain safety.Employee housing may be available for qualified candidates who are relocating. Compensation is based on experience, certifications, and lesson assignments.### **Responsibilities*** Maintain guest safety and skier/snowboarder responsibility as the highest priority while teaching and skiing/riding.* Instruct private and group lessons for guests of varying ages and ability levels.* Create a positive, supportive, and professional learning environment.* Demonstrate proper skiing techniques and provide constructive feedback.* Evaluate guest abilities and adjust instruction methods to meet individual needs.* Greet and assist guests in a friendly, professional manner to ensure a memorable resort experience.* Communicate lesson information, mountain safety practices, and resort policies effectively.* Assist with Snowsports School events, programs, and special activities as assigned.* Follow all resort policies, procedures, and safety standards.## Qualifications### **Requirements*** Must be at least 16 years of age.* Demonstrated proficiency in downhill skiing.* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.* Ability to work effectively with children and adults in both group and individual settings.* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.* Commitment to providing excellent guest service.* Previous teaching, coaching, childcare, recreation, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.* PSIA/AASI certification or willingness to pursue certification.* Knowledge of skier and snowboarder responsibility codes and mountain safety practices.PSIA/AASI membership and certification reimbursement opportunities may be available.### **Physical Requirements*** Ability to ski for extended periods during a workday.* Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.* Ability to frequently work outdoors in cold temperatures, snow, wind, and other winter weather conditions.* Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.* Ability to bend, kneel, balance, and assist guests as needed.### **Schedule*** Seasonal winter position.* Hours may vary based on business demand, weather conditions, and lesson bookings.* Availability on weekends, holidays, and peak vacation periods is required.### **Compensation**Compensation starting at $15/hour depending on certifications.---This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
