Job summary

The City of Inver Grove Heights is seeking a part-time rink attendant for the late-2026 season to supervise skaters and manage the warming house.

You will operate the rink, log attendance, report accidents, and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all visitors, with shifts on weekday evenings and weekends.

Applicants must be at least 16, communicate well, and handle physical tasks and problem solving. Hours are Mon-Fri 4-8 pm, Sat 1-9 pm, Sun 1-7 pm.

Job description

This is a part-time, seasonal position that takes place on weekday evenings and weekends from late Dec. 2026 - mid Feb. 2027 (depending on weather). This position is associated with maintaining outdoor rink/warming house rules and regulations and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of the skaters.

The rink attendant is responsible for the supervision and control of skaters; the warming house building; skating rink operation; opening and closing the warming house building; operation of rink lights; recording daily attendance of skaters using the facility; keeping the building clean; reporting accidents, injuries or property damage occurring at the skating area to his/her supervisor.

Must be 16 years of age or older; excellent communication skills; able to work independently; ability to perform physical duties, make decisions, problem solve, and use common sense.

Hours: Mon-Fri 4-8 pm; Sat 1-9 pm; Sun 1-7 pm
