Job description

Marshall Dennehey, a leading Am Law 200 civil defense law firm, is seeking an SIU Litigation Attorney for its Roseland, NJ office. Candidates must have at least four (4) years of experience and a passion for combatting fraud against the insurance industry.

In this role, you will use your litigation and investigative skills to defend against fraudulent medical, and other claims filed against various insurance carriers and commercial insureds, as well as bring affirmative actions, including RICO‑based litigation. The position involves defense and affirmative litigation arising from BI, UM, trucking and transportation, labor law, first‑party property, PIP, workers’ compensation, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with SIU departments to defend against fraudulent claims and support various clients.
• Research, prepare, file, and litigate fraud actions including RICO and other affirmative actions.
• Develop litigation strategies and negotiate complex matters.
• Review file assignments and strategize for resolution.
• Propound discovery, draft motions, memoranda, and other legal briefs as required.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions and examinations under oath (EUO’s).
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, and trials, including expert witnesses.
• Conduct court appearances for matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc., in both State and Federal courts.
• Draft pre‑ and post‑trial motions in Federal and State courts.
• Negotiate settlements and draft related documents.

Compensation range: $130,000 – $200,000, negotiable based on experience level and portable business.
