The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is seeking to hire a Site Technician II for the Office of Land Management at Spitler Woods State Park. This position will collect trash, pick up litter, rake leaves, mow grass, clear vegetation, disinfect restroom and shower buildings, maintain roadways, trails, and day use areas; plow and shovel snow; patch roads, operate chainsaw; perform necessary first aid and CPR; change oil and hydraulic fluids, change filters and belts, lubricate and make minor repairs; perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs and reroof/re-shingle buildings. Spitler Woods State Natural Area, a 200-acre site in Mt. Zion in Macon County, is home to one of the largest acreages of old-growth woods in central Illinois. Much of the site is dedicated as Spitler Woods Nature Preserve, providing additional protection for the site's valuable natural features.
