The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire a Site Assistant Superintendent 1 for the Office of Land Management at Mackinaw River. This position will assist the Site Superintendent with administration of all programs; determine project priorities with the Site Superintendent; maintain site records and prepare required reports; supervise and participate in the maintenance of all site facilities and buildings; coordinate and participate in groundskeeping and landscaping duties such as mowing, and trimming; and monitor site fuel and vehicles and complete monthly tracking and reporting of both. Bisected by the picturesque river whose name it bears, Mackinaw River State Fish & Wildlife Area provides hunting, fishing, canoeing and an opportunity to interact with nature. The diverse, minimally developed area, consisting of rolling timbered hills and former farmland, is 18 miles west of Bloomington Normal and 3 miles northeast of the town of Mackinaw, between Interstate 74 and Illinois Route 9. OLM facilitates activities from small group interpretive programming at Historical Sites, to hiking, hunting, fishing, boating, and camping.
