Job summary

Tacit in San Francisco is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee daily data collection operations, supervise staff, and ensure projects are executed safely and per protocols. You will serve as the primary on-site lead for office and facility operations, keeping the site organized and fully operational to support business needs.

About the role

The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily data collection operations, supervising staff, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to established protocols. This role manages staffing, scheduling, performance, and operational issues while serving as the primary on-site lead for office and facility operations, ensuring the site remains organized, fully operational, and prepared to support business needs.

What you'll do

• Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly supervise a team of Data Collection Technicians and regularly direct the work of at least two full-time employees or their equivalent.

  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions. Recommendations regarding employment actions are given substantial weight.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor productivity, attendance, and team performance

• Operations & Quality Management

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, consistency, and team effectiveness.

  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation across projects and workstations.

  • Oversee daily data collection activities and serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues during assigned shifts.

  • Ensure adherence to data collection protocols, quality standards, and safety procedures.

  • Conduct quality reviews and operational audits.

• Administrative & Facility Operations

  • Exercises independent judgment in staffing decisions, workflow prioritization, quality interventions, operational problem solving, and resource allocation.

  • Create and modify employee schedules, assign work, approve shift changes, and determine staffing levels necessary to meet operational requirements.

  • Maintain accurate operational records, reporting, and documentation.

  • Serve as the primary on-site lead for office management and workplace operations.

  • Manage relationships with vendors, building management, and service providers.

  • Coordinate facility operations, equipment maintenance, inventory, office supplies, and workplace readiness.

  • Oversee site access, security procedures, visitor management, and general office administration.

  • Ensure the site remains safe, organized, and operationally prepared.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Research, Hardware, and Product teams to support project goals.

  • Keep the Head of Data Collection informed of staffing needs, operational performance, and project status.

  • Escalate operational issues and risks as needed.
