Job summary

Cross Safety Management is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor to ensure crew behavior aligns with our safety culture on client sites. You will understand lagging and leading indicators and promote goals across jobsites.

You will enforce OSHA-based safety programs, inspect sites, and investigate incidents to prevent injuries and damage. Travel to project sites is required, with a focus on maintaining a safe work environment and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of Construction Industry methods and OSHA standards.
  • OSHA 500 and/or its equivalent or BCSP certification.
  • 6-10 years safety experience in construction industry.
  • Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows.
  • Willing to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and enforce Site Safety Programs for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazardous conditions.
  • Use and enforce job specific safety standards and Site-Specific safety program to ensure safety of all persons and property on the job site.
  • Conduct daily and/or weekly site inspections as appropriate.
  • Investigate, corroborate, document all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
  • Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.
  • Conduct weekly Toolbox Safety Meetings and document content and attendance.
  • Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees.
  • Advise project staff on site specific safety issues/guideline.
  • Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations.

In this position you will be required to ensure the behavior of the crew (when working on a client site) is in accordance with company safety culture. A qualified candidate understands the lagging and leading safety indicators and promotes a philosophy that achieves established goals. You must have knowledge of job site/area specific safety requirements, safety equipment, material procurement, training requirements and tracking of training.

Responsibilities as a Site Safety Supervisor - Must be able to manage and enforce Site Safety Programs for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage. By using and enforcing job specific safety standards, best management practices, and Site-Specific safety program, the Site Safety Supervisor shall ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site resulting in an accident/incident free project.

Site Details -
  • Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations (including OSHA), as well as Site Specific policies and owner/contractual requirements.
  • Conduct daily and/or weekly (as appropriate or specified by job) job site inspections.
  • Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
  • Investigate, corroborate, document, all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
  • Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.
