POSITION OVERVIEW

This role is responsible for monitoring workplace activities and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures in Rosemount, MN.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Attend daily safety meetings and pre-job briefings.
  2. Attend bi-weekly toolbox talks on specific safety topics.
  3. Conduct safety trainings and orientations.
  4. File all required documentation regarding the scope of the project.
  5. Educate workers about the company’s safety policy and procedures.
  6. Identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  7. Ensure workers are wearing the proper PPE.
  8. Monitor safety performance of on-site workers to determine vulnerability.
  9. Identify and remove unsafe or hazardous materials from job sites prior to each shift when necessary.
  10. Inspect workplace and premises at the beginning of each day to make sure it is safe for operation.
  11. Perform inspection on machinery, equipment, and tools that workers will use to ensure they are safe to operate.
  12. Inspect safety of ladders and scaffolding.
  13. Ensure workers are tied off and secure from fall hazards when they are working at a height greater than 6 feet.
  14. Assist with accident investigations to identify measures that need to be taken to prevent them from reoccurring.
  15. Write detailed reports on daily activities, inspections, and on-site accidents.
  16. Conduct safety audits on a periodic basis.
  17. Ensure storage of hazardous materials and dangerous equipment in specially designated storage areas.
  18. Communicate essential safety standards to workers during each walkthrough stage.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. OSHA 30/OSHA 510/ minimum.
  2. 3 years of construction safety experience, electrical industry preferred.
  3. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the safety industry.
  4. Demonstrates industry knowledge and independent judgment to make decisions.
  5. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with individuals with a variety of backgrounds.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. This job operates at a job site and is exposed to hazards typical of a construction site.
  2. Employees are required to climb ladders and scaffold stair towers to monitor work activities at heights.
  3. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers, and fax machines.
  4. Employees are frequently required to walk on uneven surfaces, sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
  5. This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
  6. This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  7. Must wear hard hat and work boots.
