Job summary

PCI is seeking a Site Safety Professional for its Raleigh, NC operations. This role will promote safe work practices and assist with the Accident Prevention Plan, ensuring timely submission of safety reports and policy implementation in collaboration with the site safety manager.

The position is safety-sensitive; requires 2-3 years in construction safety, OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications, strong communication, and 80% field presence. Local to Raleigh, NC; long hours and physical duties apply.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-3 years’ experience in construction safety.
• OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications are required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong verbal communication skills to convey information to employees and stakeholders.
• Experience with Fall Protection and Confined Space Training.
• Self-starter with initiative and motivation.
• Oversee safety for a minimum of 15 crafts in the field.
• Capable of spending 80% of time in the field with craft.
• Able to work 50-60 hour weeks.
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks and lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include:

• Promote safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture among all site and field personnel
• Assist with the administration of PCI’s Accident Prevention Plan, policies, and procedures, on jobsites and at the branch through utilization of safety resources such as training and mitigation of unsafe practices.
• Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted on time and in accordance with client requirements and expectations
• Collaborate with site safety manager and field to develop and implement safety policies and procedures as necessary; monitor for effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement when necessary.
• Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site
• Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of PCI
• Create and maintain positive relationships with all trades, vendors, co-workers and customers to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.

This position is safety-sensitive.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 2-3 years’ experience in construction safety
• Must have OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certification
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Displays strong verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively convey information to employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
• Previous Fall Protection & Confined Space Training.
• Motivated self-starter willing to take initiative.
• Must have provided safety oversight for a minimum of 15 craft in the field.
• Capable of spending 80% of daily time in the field with craft.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic with labor experience in the field.
• Able to work 50-60 hour work weeks.
• Able to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outside
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds independently

Preferred Requirements

• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
• Degree in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety is a plus
• Previous experience conducting safety training is a plus
• Local to Raleigh, NC metro Area
