Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Appleton, WI seeks a Site Safety Process Manager to lead safety program management, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across the Appleton site.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to reduce injuries, manage environmental health and safety commitments, and maintain ISO standards while supporting emergency response and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, Chemical Technology, Chemistry or related field required or equivalent with 5 years safety and environmental health experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and promote safety programs to reduce accidents and costs.
• Contribute to facility design, work areas, and procedures with EH&S input.
• Prepare and distribute safety reports/statistics for program effectiveness.
• Maintain environmental and policy manuals and SDS updates.
• Ensure EPA/OSHA compliance to minimize injuries and environmental non-compliance.
• Coordinate ISO14001/45001 audits and report corrective actions.
• Liaise with Aviation Safety Management to ensure FAA/EASA/ICAO compliance.
• Coordinate with fire departments and emergency response units for drills and information sharing.
• Monitor safety and environmental expenditures for cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with medical clinic on workers' compensation and reporting.
• Provide training and support to departments; supervise staff performance.
• Stay current with new safety and environmental management practices.

This position's focus is in the Safety discipline of EHS.

This role has no direct reports and is responsible for leading safety program management, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across employees and facilities at the Appleton site.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Education, Industrial Safety, Chemical Technology, Chemistry or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 years Safety and Environmental Health experience.Position Purpose:Promote a safe and healthful working environment by monitoring and implementing safe work practices and ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations, work to reduce/mitigate industrial injuries/illnesses, property damage, management system requirements, workers compensation, liability losses and environmental non-compliance. Monitor and institute compliance programs to conform to regulatory requirements.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Work with all levels within the organization to develop, monitor and promote safety and accident prevention policies/programs to reduce all accidental occurrences and associated costs. Devise methods to evaluate safety program, coordinate comprehensive injury analysis and facilitate development of safety improvement plans. Ensure all accidents are investigated to determine necessary corrective action and prevention plan .
• Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas, and work procedures and makes environmental, health, and safety recommendations accordingly .
• Ensure facility safety reports/statistics are prepared and distributed for effective measurement of instituted programs .
• Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental and policy procedure manuals .
• Ensure hazardous waste material operation complies with appropriate standards in regards to labeling, handling and disposal. Monitor/update safety data sheets (SDS) and training .
• Ensure compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations to identify and minimize the sources of actual or potential injury, illness or other loss to employees of the company .
• Coordinate Operational Audits in conjunction with ISO14001/45001 internal and external entities and provide reports on all findings to include corrective action required.
• Coordinate and liaison with Aviation Safety Management representative to ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, ICAO, and other foreign aviation authorities in regards to regulatory safety management system .
• Maintain liaison with other outside organizations such as fire departments, government agencies and emergency response units and internal response plans to ensure information exchange and mutual assistance for emergency situations .
• Monitor Safety and Environmental expenditures to ensure maximum cost efficiency .
• Collaborate with medical clinic on activities in the areas of workers compensation, accident reporting, drug screening and OSHA recordkeeping requirements .
• Ensure subordinates carry out assigned duties professionally following established procedures .
• Remain current with new Safety and Environmental management techniques and industry best practices .

Additional Functions:

• Provide support to departments requesting assistance on Safety and Environmental related issues. .
• Conduct training programs directed at new employees, department safety representative, supervisors and managers. .
• Facilitate and support site and other safety and environmental committees. .
• Work with Facility Department to ensure outside contractors are adequately briefed in company policies and procedures before beginning of any projects on company site. .

Other Requirements:

• Industrial environment preferred.
• Requires strong working knowledge of all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written.
