Actalent in New York, NY seeks a Safety Manager to lead NYC DOB oversight, develop Site Safety Plans, and manage field safety personnel. You will ensure OSHA and NYC DOB Chapter 33 compliance while driving incident prevention and continuous improvement.

The role involves audits, investigations, and coordinating with owners, managers, and regulators on high‑profile projects. This on‑site contract-to-hire position offers exposure to complex safety programs and large construction values.

Qualifications

• Active NYC DOB Site Safety Manager License and designation on projects requiring NYC DOB oversight.
• Strong background in construction safety and site safety management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations and NYC DOB Chapter 33 requirements.
• Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Site Safety Plans.
• Experience leading safety activities and supervising safety staff on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Site Safety Manager on NYC DOB oversight projects.
• Develop and maintain Site Safety Plans for assigned projects.
• Direct and oversee all safety activities and field safety personnel.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Interface with owners, construction managers, contractors, and regulators.
• Review high-risk activities and ensure proper safety measures.
• Monitor corrective actions and maintain documentation.
• Prepare safety reports and metrics for stakeholders.
• Support client meetings and safety presentations.
