Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a Safety Manager for a water treatment plant construction project in Portsmouth, OH. You\'ll provide field safety oversight on site, support demolition and major concrete operations, and coordinate safety with multiple contractors.

The role requires OSHA 30, strong safety management experience on active construction sites, and proven ability to lead a growing workforce. This 9-month, 1099 contract offers weekly pay and per diem.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Certification required.
• Experience in Construction Safety Management.
• Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and trades.
• Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards.
• Excellent communication with craft workers, supervision, and project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for water treatment plant construction activities.
• Support demolition operations associated with the existing facility.
• Monitor major concrete construction activities and associated work crews.
• Oversee safety compliance for underground pipe installation and utility work.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard recognition activities.
• Partner with project supervision and subcontractors to address safety concerns and corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with project safety expectations.
• Maintain required project safety documentation and reporting.
• Promote a proactive safety culture across all project personnel.
