Job summary

Fred Smith Company is seeking a Site Safety Specialist to support safety efforts in North Carolina. You will assist the Safety Director in designing protocols, conduct post-incident investigations, and perform project safety inspections and audits with clear communication of hazards and safety goals to field crews.

The role requires knowledge of OSHA requirements, strong writing and communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. 1–3 years in safety, CHST or OSHA 500 certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements.
• Effective writing and communication skills are required.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Safety Director in designing safety protocols.
• Perform post-incident investigations to ensure policy compliance and identify improvements.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits; communicate hazards and safety goals to field staff.
• Initiate and implement safety measures in work areas.
• Educate workers on safety aspects and coordinate training programs.
• Assist in preparing safety manuals and guidelines; collaborate with department heads.
