Job summary

Fred Smith Company is seeking a Site Safety Specialist to support safety program design, investigations, and field audits at our North Carolina sites. The role reports to the Safety Director and requires adherence to OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and DOL regulations. On-site position with benefits eligibility after 90 days.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in safety, CHST and/or OSHA 500, and strong communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Safety experience required.
• CHST and/or OSHA 500 certification required.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist Safety Director in designing safety protocols.
• Conduct post-incident investigations and communicate findings.
• Perform safety inspections and audits, communicating hazards and expectations.
• Initiate and implement safety measures in work areas.
• Inspect premises for hazardous elements and educate workers.
