Job summary

PROtect, LLC seeks a Safety Coordinator to support the Site Manager in planning and executing safety activities across the site. You will help prepare safety plans, attend client and contractor safety meetings, and report outcomes.

The role requires coordinating regular safety meetings, performing PPE checks, and conducting site audits. You will track trainings and certifications, report incidents, and lead monthly safety discussions to foster a culture of safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support Site Manager in planning and preparation of all activities to ensure safety.
• Attend Customer and Contractor Safety Meetings; report back information.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly site safety meetings with EHS leadership.
• Perform PPE checks and safety equipment inspections.
• Conduct safety audits for all staff at the site; may include permit auditing.
• Track safety trainings, certifications and expirations (e.g., basic, TWIC).
• Report incidents and near misses per requirements; document daily safety talks and JHAs.
• Lead monthly on-site safety meetings and encourage participation.
• Assist with inspections and drive participation in the SNAP program.
• Support data collection and investigations; assist with Return to Work programs.

Safety Coordinator

Will support the Site Manager in planning and preparation of all activities to ensure they are carried out in a safe manner.

• Must use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to develop effective partnerships to meet mutual goals and objectives, demonstrating a strong ability to analyze data, evaluate situations and identify problems or opportunities, including likely causes of incidents.
• Attend Customer and Contractor Safety Meetings, reporting back information.
• Coordinate monthly and quarterly site safety meetings with PROtect Sr Director EHS.
• Perform PPE Checks
• Conduct Safety Audits for all PROtect staff at the site
• May include permit auditing
• Coordinate needs for Rx Safety Glasses
• Track safety certifications/expiration dates, including but not limited to Basic Plus, TWIC, etc.
• Reporting Incidents and near misses per PROtect and Customer requirements
• Filing/Scanning and tracking of daily safety talks and JHAs
• Attend the Download call monthly to address safety concerns and update on what is coming up in the month ahead.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors on a daily basis
• Safety - Work with PROtect Safety representatives and local ARSO to reinforce PROtect’s commitment to safety.
  • Ensure new hire and refresher training is completed along with any client required safety council training.
  • Complete defensive driving program and conduct training with employees.
  • Support HR and Corporate Safety to ensure employees have necessary training credentials, site clearances (drug screens, backgrounds) and site-specific PPE for all client work.
  • Lead local in-person Monthly safety meetings, encourage active participation and ensuring they are interactive and discussive in nature.
  • Support data collection, reporting of incidents, investigations, and Return to Work programs/alternative job assignments and activities as needed.
  • Assist with periodic inspections as required by company policy or regulatory standards. Including, but not limited to: Fall protection equipment (fall protection inspection competent person training required), Electrical equipment / extension cords, Fire extinguishers (especially ones inside company vehicles), Facility inspections, and Vehicle inspections.
  • Encourage employee engagement with PROtect’s Safety Needs Active Participation (SNAP) program.
