Job summary

BCforward seeks a Site Reliability Engineer with Python to support the Quartz platform for Global Markets. You will apply strong Python (Django) and REST API skills to maintain reliability, observability, and scalable operations in a cloud-enabled environment.

You will own incident response, design automation, and build internal tools to improve platform performance and reduce toil, working closely with Quartz core teams on modernization and migrations.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development with Django and REST API experience.
• Proficient in MySQL performance troubleshooting and Linux administration.
• Infra automation background with Ansible and CI/CD pipelines.
• Observability tooling experience, preferably Dynatrace/OpenTelemetry, for production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability and operational health of Quartz infrastructure and components.
• Design and implement automation to reduce toil and improve efficiency.
• Build and maintain internal tools for platform operations.
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis and post-incident improvements.

Job Description

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with Python to join our dynamic team supporting the Quartz platform for Global Markets. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, Django, REST APIs, MySQL, Linux, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, and observability and a proven ability to increase platform reliability, improve observability, automate operations, and lead incident response at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability and operational health of core Quartz infrastructure and components.
• Design and implement automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce toil.
• Build, enhance, and maintain internal tools that support platform operations.
• Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
• Improve application and platform observability using Dynatrace and OpenTelemetry.
• Partner with Quartz core teams on platform modernization and cloud migrations.
• Harden production systems and evolve support tooling for large-scale environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong Python development, including hands-on Django and REST API experience.
• Proficiency with MySQL and database performance troubleshooting.
• Deep Linux administration and troubleshooting expertise.
• Infrastructure engineering and automation background with Ansible.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Observability and monitoring experience, preferably with Dynatrace.
• Azure and/or AWS cloud experience, including production operations.
• Knowledge of SRE, Reliability Engineering, and DevOps practices.
• Experience in large-scale production environments.
• OpenTelemetry and modern observability tools exposure.

Preferred Skills

• Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks experience.
• Financial Services or trading platform experience.
• Quartz platform familiarity and cloud migration (Cloud 1.0, 2.0) exposure.
