Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is hiring for a Product Reliability/Engineering role focused on keeping TikTok available and fast. You will learn the components powering the experience and work with a global team to meet reliability targets.

You will participate in automation-driven improvements, help scale services, and handle incident responses and postmortems as part of a high-velocity engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and 2+ years on large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong Unix/Linux knowledge, networking, storage, and databases.
• Experience with one or more programming languages (C/C++, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, JavaScript).
• Experience debugging, optimizing code and automating routine tasks.
• Experience with Nginx, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Kafka is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain a solid understanding of the components and services that power the TikTok experience.
• Maintain services to meet SLAs and SLOs by measuring availability and performance.
• Participate with a global team to support site-up issues for reliability and scalability.
• Scale systems sustainability through automation and continuous improvements.
• Provide user support, incident responses and postmortems.
