The role emphasizes strong scripting, Kubernetes experience, and hands-on visibility tools. Expect on-call rotations and opportunities to influence reliability at scale within a critical grid operations environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 6–8 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong software engineering skills in Java, C#, Python, or similar.
• Proficiency with Windows and/or Linux command-line tools, including PowerShell.
• Experience with containerized workloads in Kubernetes environments such as Azure AKS.
• Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to aid troubleshooting and automation.
• Hands-on observability/logging tools experience (Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic).
• Git and GitHub Actions proficiency.
• On-call rotation roughly every five weeks for reliability support.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering to define SLIs/SLOs and build observability dashboards and tooling.
• Develop reliable performance and health visualizations to aid troubleshooting.
• Improve data integrations and visualizations across tools like Grafana for consistent insights.
• Identify operational toil and design automation to reduce overhead and scale.
• Lead incident response for complex, multi-team issues and implement long-term improvements.
