Job summary

Nitrado USA, Inc. is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (m/f/x) to own the reliability and performance of our gaming infrastructure. You will manage Kubernetes clusters, develop with Go, and automate with Terraform and Ansible to deliver a highly available platform for millions of players.

You will design, monitor, and optimize our systems, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate with a global team to ensure the best possible player experience across time zones.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Fluent with Terraform for IaC and infrastructure design.
• Strong knowledge of Ansible for automation and config management.
• Focus on SLAs, SLOs and error budgets for highly available systems.
• Experience in Go development and building Kubernetes Operators.

Responsibilities

• Ruler of the Clusters: ensure smooth, highly available operation of Kubernetes clusters, scale and optimize the environment.
• Latency and Bug Hunter: optimize operators in Golang and other services; track down issues to ensure best possible experience for players.
• Terraform Architect: design infrastructure blueprint using Terraform and IaC for reproducible foundations.
• Ansible Tamer: automate configuration, deployments and manual tasks to maintain stability.
• Guardian of Performance: develop and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting with Prometheus & Grafana.

To strengthen our Product Gameserver Team, we are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (m/f/x) to join us as soon as possible and actively shape our area of expertise. As an SRE (m/f/x), you will be the architect and defender of our infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and stability - so that millions of players can enjoy a seamless gaming experience at all times.

Your mission

• Ruler of the Clusters: You are responsible for the smooth and highly available operation of our Kubernetes clusters. You scale, maintain, and optimize the environment where countless gaming adventures take place.
• Latency and Bug Hunter: You ensure the smooth operation of our Kubernetes operators written in Golang as well as other services. Performance optimization and tracking down bugs are like an exciting quest for you to guarantee players the best possible experience.
• Terraform Architect: You design the blueprint for our infrastructure using Terraform. Through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), you create an automated, reproducible foundation upon which our customers can build their own digital kingdoms.
• Ansible Tamer: Recurring manual tasks are your final boss. With Ansible, you automate configuration management, deployments, and anything else in your way to maintain a stable and consistent environment.
• Guardian of Performance: You develop and maintain our monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., using Prometheus & Grafana) to catch issues before they lead to a "Game Over."

Your profile

• Kubernetes Veteran: You have deep, hands-on experience in operating, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
• Infrastructure as Code is Your Credo: You speak Terraform fluently and have already built and managed complex infrastructures with it.
• Automation in Your DNA: You possess strong knowledge of Ansible and use it to eliminate manual processes and boost efficiency.
• A Heart for Stability: You think in terms of SLAs, SLOs, and Error Budgets, with a passion for building highly available and resilient systems.
• Development Experience in Go: You have experience developing in Go and love the language for its efficiency and concurrency. You have developed Kubernetes Operators in Go and can optimize existing ones at runtime.
• Gamer Mindset: You understand what players expect from a perfect platform.
• Great Communicator & Team Player: You value exchange within the team, actively contribute, and clearly communicate complex technical topics in English (German skills are a plus).
• On-Call: You participate in a fair on-call rotation and take responsibility for the reliability and availability of our customers' gameservers.
• Remote Setup: You work remotely within +/- 2 hours of Central European Time (CET) and hold a valid EU work permit (no relocation support provided). We would love to see you join our optional team meetups (once per quarter)!
