Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II to join the CRM DevOps team in Sylmar, CA or Sunnyvale, CA. You will design, implement, and maintain fault-tolerant systems, monitoring, and automation to ensure uptime of Merlin.net for clinicians and patients.

You'll collaborate with software, security, and quality teams to embed SRE best practices, manage incidents, and drive improvements through runbooks and postmortems in a regulated healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and high-availability workloads.
• Strong debugging and incident response skills.
• Experience with Azure and Linux networking.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant, and resilient systems.
• Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks in software and infrastructure.
• Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Develop monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions.
• Automate provisioning, deployment, and recovery tasks.
• Scale services and infrastructure in Azure and cloud deployments.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, quality, and regulatory teams.
• Create runbooks and drive blameless postmortems after incidents.
