The Boeing Company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join our Air Dominance Site Reliability Engineering team located in Berkeley, MO. This pivotal role involves shaping the reliability strategy, architecture, and operational maturity of mission‑critical developer platforms utilized by Air Dominance engineering teams. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, guiding the design, implementation, and maintenance of essential software delivery tools and infrastructure. This includes managing platforms such as GitLab, GitLab CI/CD runners, Jira, Confluence, PostgreSQL, Artifactory, and SonarQube, along with associated automation, monitoring, backup, recovery, and security controls. The role demands a strategic thinker capable of defining standards, mentoring engineers, leading complex investigations, and partnering with various stakeholders to ensure developer tooling remains secure, scalable, and highly reliable.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, data science, or a related field. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, and must be eligible for access to Special Access Programs (SAP). A minimum of 8 years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo, along with extensive enterprise architecture experience—including cloud architecture, security, data privacy, and deployment—is essential. Additionally, candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in root cause analysis, technical leadership, and team management. Preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, extensive experience with GitLab, Jira, PostgreSQL, cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and familiarity with infrastructure as code, containers, and security practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across teams are also highly valued.
