Job summary

The Boeing Company in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Software Engineer to lead secure software development and operations within the ADaPS organization. You will drive CI/CD pipelines, automation, and security risk mitigation in a 100% onsite role, collaborating with a large team of engineers across programs including SLS, satellites, and missiles.

Required is a bachelor’s degree with 10+ years in software lifecycle and 5+ years in DevSecOps, plus experience with CI/CD and RMF

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior DevSecOps Software Engineer to support the ADaPS organization in Huntsville, AL.

ADaPS (an organization of over 100 software engineers) supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch Systems (SLS) Upper Stage, Satellite Efforts, and Advanced Missile Defense efforts including Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC3). ADaPS specializes in implementing rapid prototyping and development programs using small, adaptable agile teams.

Position Responsibilities:

• Oversees establishment and maintenance of modern software development environments, with formalized processes for development, implementation, integration, testing, documenting, and deploying software changes
• Works collaboratively with software engineering teams to deploy and operate systems
• Oversees development and maintenance of continuous integration / continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Oversees automation and streamlining of operations and processes that support software testing, including script development as needed
• Builds and maintains tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations
• Communicates technical content to stakeholders
• Analyzes, plans, and executes mitigation strategies to prevent potential security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues in development, testing, and production environments
• Supports software development and testing operations. Performs software research and trade studies

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelors degree or higher

• 10+ years' experience in the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test)
• 5+ years' experience with Development Operations (DevOps) and/or Development Security Operations (DevSecOps)
• Experience working in Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) using appropriate code versioning, build and test automation tools

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 14+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 18+ years of directly related work experience OR 22+ years of related, relevant experience
• Proficient with the GitLab ecosystem
• Experience with Agile software development
• Experience in build automation
• Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) security controls
• Experience leading software teams and/or projects
• Maintains a Security+ or equivalent certification
• Proficient with modern software development methodologies
• Proficient with a variety of software development languages, tools and techniques

Summary pay range: USD $164,900 - $223,100
