Job summary

Our client, a leader in Retail & Consumer Goods, seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to strengthen reliability, efficiency, and resilience of cloud infrastructure supporting a high-velocity consumer business. You will optimize operating costs, improve observability, and work with product engineering teams to balance stability, scalability, and cost discipline.

Location is remote (US-based candidates only); visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Kubernetes operations experience, with EKS preferred.
• Solid foundation in AWS, including IAM setup knowledge.
• Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tools.
• Operational experience supporting production systems.
• Familiarity with Python as a growth area.
• Understanding of SRE fundamentals such as error budgets and SLIs/SLOs.
• Exposure to FinOps or cloud cost management concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to learn independently.
• Openness to mentorship and a collaborative learning style.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of cost optimization initiatives following major cost-reduction efforts.
• Monitor and respond to SLI/SLO alerts, investigating anomalies and operational issues.
• Tune alert thresholds and suppress low-traffic overnight alerts where appropriate.
• Operate and maintain existing Kubernetes and EKS infrastructure.
• Support infrastructure as code initiatives using Terraform.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Partner with product engineering teams to support cost-effective AWS usage.
• Grow from completing defined tickets to independently scoping and executing work.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space.

This role will focus on strengthening the reliability, efficiency, and resilience of core cloud infrastructure supporting a high-velocity consumer business. You will help optimize operating costs, improve observability, and support production systems that must perform consistently at scale. The position partners closely with product engineering teams to ensure infrastructure decisions balance stability, scalability, and cost discipline.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $145,000 – $170,000 annually
