dynaConnections, based in Austin, TX, is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join a compact DevOps team. The role focuses on keeping business-critical systems running with automated operations, scalable infrastructure, and strong emphasis on cloud-based deployments.

You will design, implement, and maintain OCI-based environments, improve deployment pipelines, and automate monitoring, backups, and security tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of development and production systems in line with business expectations and customer SLAs.
• Automate systems, procedures, and processes wherever practical—and document the rest.
• Build, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and software build, packaging, and deployment processes.
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Use development and QA environments as a proving ground for new processes and early-warning systems for production issues.
• Stay current with industry trends, recommend improvements and take on other duties as required.

Overview

The Site Reliability Engineer keeps our business-critical systems running optimally as part of a small DevOps team supporting a large and varied infrastructure. Your first priority is continuity of service; your second is improving operational efficiency through automation.

You will design, build, and maintain stable, efficient infrastructure across production, QA, and development environments — building cloud environments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), improving build and deployment pipelines, and automating monitoring, backups, and security tooling. Much of this role is writing code to automate operations, so you should be comfortable scripting and programming in an operational context, including working familiarity with Java.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Substantial experience administering Linux-based infrastructure (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred), with working knowledge of Windows.
• Experience with cloud platforms — we run on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and experience with any major Cloud provider applies.
• Proficiencywithconfigurationmanagementandautomationtools—weuseAnsibleandPuppet.
• Strongscriptingandprogrammingskills(e.g.,Python,Bash,PowerShell)andworkingfamiliaritywithJava.
• ExperiencewithGit-basedsourcecontrol(weuseBitbucket)andCI/CDpipelines.
• ExperiencewithdatabasessuchasOracle,Elasticsearch,Redis,orMongoDB.
• Experiencewithmonitoring,alerting,andincidentresponsetools,andperformingrootcauseanalysis.
• FamiliaritywithAgilepractices(Scrum/Kanban)andtoolssuchasJiraandConfluence.
• Excellenttroubleshootingandanalyticalskills,withtheabilitytospotissuesbeforetheybecomeproblems.
• Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences, strong documentation habits, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
