Dynamo is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity (2–3 days onsite). This role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable storage and disaster recovery solutions across on‑prem and government cloud environments.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of professional storage engineering experience, with hands‑on DoW IT systems exposure and strong knowledge of SAN, backups, and storage technologies.

Qualifications

  • ,Hands-on experience with enterprise hierarchical storage system management and enterprise backup/restore services.
  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience supporting enterprise storage and backup technologies.
  • Two years hands-on experience working with DoW IT systems.
  • 2+ years of hands-on enterprise SAN experience including FC zoning, iSCSI, FCoE, HBA/CNA, storage controllers, LUNs, RAID, NAS, and file sharing.
  • IA Level: IAT II - Security + Certification
  • One or more CE Certifications such as AWS Architect or NetApp certifications.

  • Monitor and report on data restore and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Provide process improvement recommendations for efficiency.
  • Maintain data backup solutions to meet mission objectives.
  • Research, build, and implement file sharing technologies per requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and advise on advanced storage issues and deficiencies.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance.
  • Prepare storage administration reports and optimize storage technologies.

Dynamo Technologies is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity (2–3 days per week onsite). This role is ideal for a proactive problem-solver who thrives in complex enterprise environments and is passionate about designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions across on-premises and government cloud environments. This role will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, improve system reliability and performance, conduct technical research, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. The Systems Engineer will also develop technical documentation, communicate project status and objectives to stakeholders, and contribute to continuous infrastructure modernization efforts.

Duties/ Responsibilities
  • Develop, integrate, and oversee storage arrays, fiber switches, backup solutions, and associated components.
  • Monitor and report on existing data restore and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Provide recommendations on process improvement/efficiencies.
  • Maintain and oversee data backup solutions to ensure mission objective are met.
  • Research, build, and implement file sharing technologies to meet customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and advise on advanced storage issues/deficiencies.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance.
  • Perform storage analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components.
  • Author and review operational procedures/documentation in relation to new and existing technologies.
  • Author/document policies and procedures to support the operational storage environment and participate in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies.
  • Prepare reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc., and recommend enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize existing storage technologies.

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise hierarchical storage system management; operation of enterprise backup/restore services, using software such as Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity Cloud.
  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience supporting enterprise storage and backup technologies.
  • Two (2) years hands-on experience working with Department of War (DoW) IT systems.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise SAN (Storage Area Network) management to include capabilities and technologies such as: Fiber Channel zoning, iSCSI, FCoE (Fiber Channel over Ethernet) unified fabric, HBA/CNA (Host Bus Adapter/Converged Network Adapter), storage controllers, and LUN (Logical Unit Number), RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks), and file sharing / NAS (Network Addressable Storage).
  • IA Level: IAT II - Security + Certification
  • One of the following Computing Environment (CE) Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • Hitachi Data Systems Qualified Professional – Storage Administration
  • NetApp Certified Hybrid Cloud Architect
  • NetApp Certified Hybrid Cloud Administrator
  • NetApp Certified Technology Associate
  • Pure Certified Data Storage Associate
  • 2+ years of hands‑on enterprise SAN experience, including:
  • HBA/CNA, storage controllers, LUNs
  • RAID, NAS, and file‑sharing technologies
Education and Experience
  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience supporting enterprise storage and backup technologies.
  • Two (2) years hands‑on experience working with Department of War (DoW) IT systems.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position represents Dynamo's good‑faith estimate of the compensation expected to be offered at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, the responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, skills, education, work location, and internal equity.
