Job summary

Ascend Performance Materials in Alvin, TX seeks a Site Process Safety Leader to deploy the process safety program across the site, partnering with ESSH and manufacturing teams to identify risks and implement effective controls.

You will lead safety metrics, coordinate training, and support PHAs and LOPAs, ensuring compliance with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP. A chemical/ mechanical engineering background and 5+ years of risk-based safety experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering (chemical or mechanical preferred).
• 5+ years in risk-based process safety or CCPS guidance.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with engineering curiosity.
• Ability to read Process and Instrument Diagrams.
• Ability to lead and influence others.
• Excellent written and oral communication and planning skills.
• Flexible, analytical, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead process safety program deployment across operating units.
• Ensure site PSM and RMP compliance with OSHA/EPA rules.
• Coordinate site process safety training and competency development.
• Develop and maintain a process safety scorecard and metrics.
• Partner with operations and reliability to identify and mitigate risks.
• Facilitate PHAs and LOPAs as needed to support site requirements.
• Engage site leadership to prioritize process safety initiatives.
• Lead and develop program owners for site process safety.
