Job summary

FTE Drilling is seeking a site mechanic to maintain and repair drill rigs and trucks directly in the field across the United States. The role requires diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, performing maintenance, and providing on-site guidance to clients.

We offer a fly-in fly-out schedule (14/14), travel across sites, health insurance, a 401K, and a bonus. Candidates should have 5–7 years of mechanical experience and relevant technical training, with readiness to travel

Qualifications

  • DVS (DEP) in mechanics or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of mechanical experience.
  • Able to lift up to 25 kg and stand for long periods.
  • Autonomous, organized, and safety-conscious.
  • Willing to travel across USA (fly-in fly-out) and adapt to remote regions.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components of drill rigs and trucks.
  • Adjust machinery, repair or replace defective parts.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on machinery.
  • Prepare parts lists and estimate the time needed for a repair.
  • Order and replace worn-out parts, track ongoing availability of materials.
  • Read plans, diagrams, and technical manuals from the manufacturer.
  • Write your technical intervention reports and keep daily reporting up to date.
  • Provide mechanical or maintenance advice to clients directly on-site.
  • Suggest ways to improve equipment performance and longevity.

FTE Drilling operates in the drilling industry, with job sites located across the United States. We’re looking for a site mechanic to maintain and repair our drill rigs and trucks, directly in the field.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Diagnose and repair the electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components of drill rigs and trucks
  • Adjust machinery, repair or replace defective parts
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on machinery
  • Prepare parts lists and estimate the time needed for a repair
  • Order and replace worn-out parts, track ongoing availability of materials
