Job summary

First Quality seeks a Site Business Leader for its Midwest Defiance, OH facility to oversee end-to-end site operations, drive efficiency, and manage P&L. You will lead production, maintenance, quality, and safety while delivering on cost, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of heavy manufacturing leadership, 5+ years cross-functional team leadership, and experience with safety and quality systems. Travel up to 50% is expected in the initial period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
• MBA preferred.
• 10+ years heavy manufacturing leadership.
• 5+ years cross-functional team leadership.
• Experience in warehouse management and SOP development.
• Greenfield/startup experience preferred.
• High-speed consumer product manufacturing experience preferred.
• Safety and quality management systems experience.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (first 60-90 days).

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct and coordinate all manufacturing functions including production, warehouse, planning, engineering, safety, maintenance, quality, and other groups.
• Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes to boost site performance and efficiency.
• Lead high-performance work teams at the site.
• Maintain a safe work environment and drive safety systems; hold all accountable.
• Hire, coach and mentor leaders with regular feedback and development plans.
• Set clear performance expectations and plan succession for a bench of leaders.
• Foster a culture focused on delivering outstanding products and customer value while ensuring safety.
• Implement standards and processes for high-quality, consistent products with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Own full P&L accountability for the site and drive financial performance.
• Coordinate with environmental teams to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Oversee facilities, utilities, and security to support uninterrupted operations.
• Set goals aligned with division strategy and plan strategic customer-focused actions.
• Collaborate with Planning/Sales to meet orders and optimize machine efficiency.
