Job summary

Google's Hardware Operations team is seeking a Hardware Operations Manager to lead a Data Center Technicians group responsible for installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining server hardware and components.

The role involves coordinating complex installations, leading small project teams, and owning deployment and ongoing maintenance of networks, storage, compute, and AI infrastructure, with a focus on reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience managing site-wide or inter-site technical teams.
5 years of site-level data center operational leadership.
5 years of experience developing and managing managers.
Experience with process optimization, risk modeling, and KPI/SLO attainment.
Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day management of the site-level server operations team.
Implement and drive a robust safety culture at the site, advocating for EHS initiatives.
Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing team of managers and technicians.
Be accountable for localized metrics, including KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs.
