Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced carpenter to construct, erect, install and repair wooden structures and forms under a Craft Foreman.

The role involves leading a small crew, reading blueprints, and maintaining safety and quality standards on projects across the Southeast and Central U.S. You will measure, cut and assemble timber, install scaffolding and formwork for concrete, and ensure timely reporting of time sheets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Background check and drug screen as required.

Responsibilities

• Examine blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions of structure.
• Measure materials and mark cutting lines accurately.
• Saw boards and plywood to required sizes.
• Use carpentry hand tools safely and effectively.
• Nail forms and brace them for concrete support.
• Erect scaffolding and install ladders and walkways.
• May install door and window bucks in frames.
• Set and brace anchor bolts and prepare for concrete pours.
