Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled construction professional to build and repair wooden structures, read blueprints, and follow sketches or oral instructions. You will work safely and efficiently to deliver high-quality results on site.

The role requires at least 3 years in construction, ability to read a tape measure, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Expect 40+ hours weekly with potential weekend work in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction.
• Able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor(s).
• Able to utilize basic math and read a tape measure.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.
• Work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
• 40+ hours per week with possible weekend work.
• Background check and drug screen as required by location.

Responsibilities

• Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
• Builds platforms, barriers and hand rails.
• Covers floor openings and holes with plywood and guard rails.
• Builds boxes or crates around equipment for shipment.
• Cuts scaffolding boards and toe kick plates.
• Manufactures signs, information boards, fences, barricades.
• Constructs temporary enclosures and work benches.
