Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Inventory Coordinator to manage field inventory for equipment, materials, tools, and supplies on Avon project sites. You will coordinate purchase orders, shipments, and receiving reports with the field teams and the Supply Chain department.

The role requires strong ERP knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to relocate to the project site for the duration of each assignment. You will train site teams and maintain accurate inventory records.

Qualifications

  • Two-year related degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience in industrial or commercial construction environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of purchasing and material management processes.
  • Knowledgeable in ERP systems proficiency required.
  • Proficient in accounting and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project team on inventory activities for equipment, incorporated material, consumables, tools, rigging, and construction supplies.
  • Serve as primary liaison between field teams and Avon Supply Chain for inventory matters.
  • Train site teams on purchasing and inventory management processes.
  • Initiate and track material orders through JDE, DSI, Supplier Share Points, transportation company websites, and related systems.
  • Update and maintain site access documents.
  • Generate and process field and purchase requisitions, inventory receiving reports, storage maps, inventory lists, delivery exception reports, and warranty claims.
  • Coordinate inventory deliveries with truck drivers, transportation companies, and offload crews.
  • Guide offload crews on inventory receipt inspection and shipping documentation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of incorporated materials with Trade Superintendents.
  • Audit materials received and installed through weekly meetings and tracking sheets.
  • Monitor Equipment Status Reports and help mitigate schedule deviations involving critical-path items.
  • Contribute inventory status information to the Plan of the Day.
  • Communicate with suppliers and owners following Supply Chain protocols.
  • Support the DOT Coordinator as requested.
  • Compile incorporated-material documentation, including receiving logs, mill certificates, test reports, and cut sheets, for Job Book turnover.
  • Assist with final inventory transfers and jobsite closeout activities.
  • Generate and distribute inventory reports and documentation supporting supplier invoice payments.
  • Conduct physical inventories when required.

Job description

Requirements
  • Two-year related degree; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Previous industrial or commercial construction experience preferred
  • Knowledge of purchasing and material management processes
  • Knowledgeable in the use of ERP Systems
  • Proficient in Accounting (math and record-keeping)
  • Ability to give presentations to groups of up to 10 people
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Effective communication (oral & written), motivation, and supervisory skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR)
  • Expected to relocate to the project site for the duration of each assigned construction project
  • Ability to meet physical demands including frequent standing, walking, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally, pushing, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, climbing, and balancing
  • Ability to work in outside weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, and exposure to wet/humid conditions, fumes/airborne particles, electrical shock risk, vibration, and moderate noise
