Job summary

Valeo North America in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Site HR Business Partner to lead HR duties for the site, including employee relations, hiring, training, salary administration, benefits and more. You will partner with site managers and drive communication to all employees.

You will manage headcount planning for production, oversee onboarding, compliance with labor laws, safety rules, and develop talent through coaching and development initiatives, while deploying HR processes across the site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience in a medium-to-large automotive supplier or OEM, or high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Experience autonomously handling a variety of HR issues such as investigations, benefits questions, payroll and terminations, recruiting and new hire orientations.
  • Understanding of local, state and federal labor laws.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the Site's operational results as HR representative for internal stakeholders.
  • Manages permanent and temporary headcounts; for Production, participates in PDP and validates temporary needs.
  • Follows up absenteeism, defines and deploys improvement plans.
  • Contributes to Talent development tools, processes & policy deployment; coaches managers.
  • Performs recruitment and onboarding according to standards.
  • Ensures Health, Safety & Working conditions compliance and risk management.
  • Maintains data quality in HR systems and HR administrative procedures.
  • Supports payroll in the absence of the HR Manager or during delegated tasks.

About the Role:

As a Site Human Resources Business Partner, you will manage all HR related duties for the Site, including but not limited to employee relations, hiring and retention, training and development, salary administration, benefits and more. You will work closely on a day-to-day basis with managers and lead communication to all employees and managers within the Site.

Responsibilities Also Include:

Contributes to the operational results of the Site Is the HR representative for all internal stakeholders Contributes to the respect of the rules by the employees, particularly in terms of safety; participates & contributes to the Health/Safety/Environment actions according to the Site Policy Manages in quantity & quality the permanent & temporary headcounts; for Production: participates to the PDP and validates the temporary needs Follows up absenteeism, defines & deploys improvement plan Contributes to the deployment of the Strategy for the Entity People & organization development Coordinates, deploys and coaches managers on Talent development tools, processes & policy Participates & contributes to the reflection and projects related to the organization evolutions; proposes organizational changes Guarantees the relevant/proper Job grading methodology / use according to the Group referential and all related C&B applications Manages the recruitment & onboarding process according to the standard Identifies Learning & all actions to develop competences according to the Site's (collective) and employees' (individual) needs, the Technological needs (TDP), and the company's requirements (mandatory training...) Defines & arbitrates Training actions, according to the budget Identify new internal Trainers, according to the Training needs & potential Trainers' abilities & development path. Health, Safety & Working conditions Apply and make it apply all Health / Security / Environment rules. Take into account all identified risks and manage them with QRQC tools Follows up unfitness situations, and participates to the adaptation of work conditions to individual unfitness Deploys Quality of Life at Work policy and improvement plan Provides support to managers to guide them in Health, Safety & Working conditions topics related to HR responsibilities Employee Engagement Coordinates 5 Axes deployment plan, identifies & deploys action plan Contributes to the V5000 self assessment, and notation improvement Applies and Advises on 5 Axes Methodology. Reinforces the importance of EE and its role on the Engagement of all employees. Participates on Site 5 Axes Committee in order to propose improvements and suggestion to enhance IP activities at Site level Personal administration & data management Ensures the respect of HR administrative procedures (overtime, attendance management, vacations...) Validates overtime, on-call duties, vacations, etc. Checks & ensures data quality in the different HR system Time attendance / Payroll specific missions Validates Site payroll in case of HR Manager's absence or on punctual or general delegation Talent development specific missions Is the Talent Development referent for the Site, interfaces with Group, Division, and all stakeholders and coordinates TD communication with other HR actors in the Site Coordinates Talent Development campaigns deployment within the Site (Annual appraisals, etc.)

What You Should Have:
  • You should have a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Communications, Business, Management or related field
  • You have 3+ years of Human Resources at a medium-to-large automotive supplier or OEM, or Human Resources experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • You have experience with autonomously handling a variety of human resources issues, such as investigations, benefits questions, annual appraisals, payroll, disciplinary actions and terminations, recruiting and new hire orientations
  • You have an understanding of local, state and federal labor laws
