Job summary

TWG Systems Inc. is seeking a Site Engineering Manager to lead the onsite maintenance of automated material handling systems at a customer facility in Buda, TX.

This customer-facing role requires strong leadership, engineering judgement, and hands-on support across electrical, mechanical, and software domains. You will coordinate maintenance, manage a resident automation team, drive incident resolution, and ensure safety and contractual compliance while engaging with the Lifetime Services

Qualifications

  • Supervising a maintenance team in a factory or warehouse with automation equipment.
  • Experience with material handling equipment and automation.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs and automation controls.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between the customer facility and TGW Lifetime Services; attend meetings and ensure contractual obligations.
  • Develop rapport with customer operations staff and identify system improvements.
  • Coordinate all maintenance activities, including PPM, rapid-response troubleshooting, and repair of automated equipment.
  • Lead incident management and root-cause analysis efforts for onsite issues.
  • Oversee TGW personnel onsite; participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Manage budget requirements for onsite support and ensure cost controls.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance; lead on-site investigations and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Lifetime Services to document issues and share lessons learned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

The Site Engineering Manager is a customer-facing role that combines critical thinking and integrated solution ownership with effective leadership, customer service, and management skills. This role is part of the Lifetime Services (LTS) team, which oversees ongoing onsite services and automation support to customers after installation and implementation of TGW equipment. The Site Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall management of the material handling systems installed at the customer site and the TGW personnel assigned to the customer site. This position supervises the resident team of automation technicians and acts as the liaison between the customer and TGW on all automation-related topics.

This position is based at our customer facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as liaison between the customer facility and broader TGW Lifetime Services team. Attend regular customer meetings, provide updates on onsite activities, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations, such as performance clauses and staffing requirements.
  • Develop rapport with customer operational staff at all levels. Work closely with customer to identify system improvement opportunities proactively.
  • Coordinate all maintenance activities, including the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and rapid-response troubleshooting and repair of the automated equipment. Provide hands‑on electrical, mechanical, and software technical support to assist with resolution of complex issues.
  • Drive incident management efforts. Ensure timely resolution of all issues and lead related root‑cause analysis activities.
  • Oversee TGW personnel onsite; participate in recruitment and onboarding processes, manage employee performance, training, and development, and complete administrative tasks such as timecard approval, responding to time‑off requests, scheduling, etc.
  • Manage budget requirements for onsite support.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety guidelines, requirements, procedures, and regulations. Serve as onsite lead in all safety investigations, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Collaborate with the broader TGW Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues, and lessons learned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education

Associate degree or Technical Certificate required, or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience

Demonstrated experience supervising a maintenance team in a factory or warehouse environment with automation equipment.

Travel

Up to 15% travel as required.

Skills & Abilities
  • Proven leadership ability, people and performance management skills, and experience handling high-stress scenarios requiring advanced interpersonal skills and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Several years’ experience in mechatronic troubleshooting and repair with material handling conveyor, AS/RS, and shuttle experience.
  • Strong proficiency in CMMS systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and use of programming, diagnostic, and troubleshooting tools preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk around industrial and/or warehouse environment for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
  • Visual and auditory abilities to work safely with and around moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts, and electricity that require safety protocols.
  • Ability to move and use muscles for extended periods of time without fatigue.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Ability to communicate regularly with others verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
