Job summary

Iridium seeks a Site Engineer III to independently manage ground entry point site installation, maintenance, and upgrades across domestic and international locations. You will coordinate vendors, ensure safety, and drive reliable operations for SDA-related GEP infrastructure.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in telecom or satellite fields, a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and strong problem-solving skills. US citizenship required.

• 5+ years of relevant experience in the telecommunications or satellite communications industry.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and coordinate site maintenance, installation, and upgrades.
• Oversee work by vendors and contractors at Ground Entry Point (GEP) sites.
• Promote a safe working environment and escalate risks as appropriate.
• Execute preventative maintenance activities and verify performance.
• Lead troubleshooting for site equipment, infrastructure, and power systems.
• Provide technical guidance to vendors and junior teammates.
• Coordinate with engineering/operations for site readiness and integration.
• Analyze performance trends and recommend improvements.
• Support testing, commissioning, and validation of new equipment.
• Adapt to evolving mission requirements and drive process improvements.
