About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the civil construction industry in George , is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Site Engineer . This role is crucial for ensuring the technical execution of construction projects aligns with design specifications and quality standards. You will be instrumental in overseeing day-to-day site activities, managing resources, and collaborating with the project team to ensure efficient and safe operations. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and engineering specifications.
- Conduct quality control checks and implement corrective actions to maintain high standards of workmanship throughout the construction process.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to guide construction activities and resolve site-related engineering issues.
- Coordinate and manage site resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the construction site.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for the project management team, detailing site activities, challenges, and achievements.
Requirements
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Site Engineer, preferably in civil infrastructure projects within South Africa.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a site environment.
