Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major civil engineering project in Buckinghamshire on HS2. You will be responsible for setting out, surveying, producing site records and ensuring works meet programme and specifications.

You will liaise with site teams, support earthworks, drainage and structures, manage QA/ITP documentation, and ensure safety. A CSCS card and relevant civil qualifications are required; HS2 or Tier 1 project experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Site Engineer with civil engineering experience.
• HS2 or major infrastructure project experience is advantageous.
• CSCS card is required.
• Relevant civil engineering qualification such as HNC/HND or degree is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for civil engineering works.
• Producing and maintaining accurate site records.
• Completing QA documentation, ITPs and inspection records.
• Checking drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Supporting earthworks, drainage, structures and associated infrastructure.
• Liaising with wider engineering and site management teams.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with programme and specification.
• Assisting with permits and temporary works requirements where applicable.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on HS2, delivering complex civil engineering works as part of one of the UK’s largest infrastructure programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for civil engineering works

About You

• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within civil engineering
• Experience on HS2, Tier 1 or other major infrastructure projects would be advantageous
• Strong setting out experience using relevant surveying equipment
• Good understanding of QA, ITPs and engineering documentation
• Experience across earthworks, drainage, structures or major civils
• CSCS card required
• Relevant civil engineering qualification such as an HNC, HND or degree would be beneficial
