Job summary

Astreya Partners, LLC is seeking an on-site Site EHS Manager to implement, manage, and audit the Safety Program at dedicated data center locations. You will lead hazard assessments, enforce safety protocols, and coordinate regulatory and client safety reviews to ensure a zero-energy, safe work environment.

Reporting to the Regional EHS Manager, you will mentor personnel, oversee specialized safety training, and maintain strict adherence to OSHA/industry standards across active construction zones

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related technical field required.
• CSP or OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
• 5+ years in EHS management within data center or heavy construction environments.
• Experience with digital EHS management tools for data interpretation and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Site EHS Manager is responsible for the onsite implementation, management, and auditing of Astreya’s Safety Program at dedicated data center locations. This role ensures that all site operations—including fiber deployment, rack-and-stack activities, and large-scale fiber turnups—comply with local, state, federal, and client-specific regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the Regional EHS Manager, the Site Manager serves as a subject matter expert for onsite personnel, conducting regular risk assessments and providing functional leadership to ensure a zero-energy state and safe man-machine environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Site-Level Program Execution Risk Management: Conduct regular site assessments to identify hazards in high-risk processes, such as 4th-level racking and electrical installations. CEHS Planning: Prepare and maintain location-specific EHS plans for new data center turnups and ongoing operations from initial planning through to execution. Electrical Safety: Enforce strict Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols and verify zero-energy states to prevent electrical incidents.
• Compliance and Auditing Inspections: Conduct monthly unannounced site inspections to ensure permanent audit readiness for both internal and client-led safety reviews. Incident Management: Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all onsite accidents and high-potential near-misses, ensuring initial reports are submitted per client timelines. Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the onsite contact for regulatory inspections (e.g., OSHA) and client safety committees.
• Specialized Operations and Welfare Hazardous operations: Oversee the management of Medical Surveillance: Coordinate mandatory fitness-for-duty assessments and routine health surveillance for technicians exposed to noise, night work, or lone working environments.
• Training and Mentorship Safety Instruction: Deliver specialized EHS training, including Laser Safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Hand/Power Tool safety and ensure personnel have the appropriate external certifications. Toolbox Talks: Lead regular safety briefings, safety committee meetings and "safety moment" stand-downs to disseminate learnings from recent incidents.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Professional Certifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Required: Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or OSHA 30-Hour (Construction or General Industry).
• Preferred: Certifications in First Aid/CPR and AED Experience and Skills Industry Experience: 5+ years of EHS management experience within a data center or heavy construction environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience using digital EHS management tools for data interpretation, reporting and recordkeeping.
• Communication: Exceptional ability to communicate complex safety requirements to both frontline technical staff and program leadership.
• Working Conditions Environment: Regular exposure to active construction zones, high-density data halls, and warehouse floors.
• Physical Demands: Ability to perform site walks and inspections in industrial settings.
