Job summary

South Sound YMCA in Olympia, WA seeks a Site Director to lead the School Age Child Care Program, ensuring safe, engaging activities for youth while aligning with licensing standards.

Qualifications

• Be 21 years of age or older at hire.
• Complete 30 college credits in any one hundred-level or above coursework, or equivalent.
• Submit college transcripts for evaluation.
• Have at least two years of experience working with children and coordinating with school personnel.
• Meet Washington state childcare training requirements, including 30-hour basics and 10 additional yearly hours.
• Complete DCYF trainings within the first 7 days of employment.
• Pass background checks with DCYF and SSYMCA.
• Provide proof of TB and MMR vaccination/immunization within the first 7 days.

Responsibilities

• Be available for up to 3 shifts per week or 12 shifts per month and supervise staff/volunteers.
• Monitor youth safety and whereabouts, indoors and outdoors.
• Implement enrichment activities and involve staff in delivery.
• Maintain positive relationships with children, parents/guardians, staff, and the community.
• Ensure necessary supplies are available and keep program areas clean and orderly.
• Comply with licensing regulations and report issues to the Program Director.
• Turn in paperwork by required deadlines and attend trainings and staff meetings.
• Document injuries, accidents, and incidents and file reports as needed.
• Maintain time and attendance records in the Paycom system.
• Perform custodial duties to keep spaces clean and safe.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Sees that all appropriate supplies required to run a quality program are available during scheduled planning hours.7. Reads and becomes familiar with licensing regulations; sees that the program meets all the requirements as set by the State; immediately report any problems to the assigned Program Director.8. Education: Completed 30 college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent as approved and verified in the electronic workforce registry by DCYF (Department of Children Youth and Families).3. Submit your college transcripts to MERIT for evaluation.4. Possess at least two years of experience working with children; volunteers; cooperate with school personnel in a positive, professional manner; maintain a facility in accordance with state licensing regulations and YMCA requirements; relate well to children and their families.5. Training: meet and maintain training standards set by the state of Washington as a childcare professional, including completion of 30-hour childcare basics training and 10 additional yearly hours.6. Complete required DCYF trainings within the first 7 days of employment.7. Pass background check through DCYF and SSYMCA.8.
