Job summary

AlphaBEST Education, Inc. in Highland Park, IL is hiring a part-time Site Director to lead our before- and after-school program. This role focuses on managing operations, staffing, and ensuring a high-quality program for students.

You will supervise the site team, oversee curriculum delivery, maintain licensing compliance, and foster strong relationships with families and school partners while keeping child safety as a top priority.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
• At least 3 years of experience in a school-age program or teaching setting preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations: schedules, ratios, staffing, and documentation.
• Oversee curriculum implementation and ensure activities meet program expectations.
• Build a safe, inclusive environment compliant with licensing requirements and AlphaBEST standards.
• Prioritize child safety and site readiness for inspections.
• Supervise and mentor site staff, providing coaching and training as needed.
• Represent AlphaBEST professionally at school and community events.
• Develop strong relationships with families, staff, and AlphaBEST leadership.

Pay: starting at $22/hour

Hours: 6:00-8:00am & 2:30-6:00pm

Looking for a part-time leadership role that fits around the school day?

AlphaBEST Education provides extended day, summer, and enrichment programs that are designed to inspire and engage students while they discover and learn beyond the school day.

For those who have experience supporting students, the Site Director role offers the opportunity to lead a meaningful before and after school program that helps kids learn, grow, and thrive.

We're looking for an early learning professional who:

• Enjoys working with children in a structured, high-energy environment
• Feels confident taking the lead and running a smooth program
• Takes pride in delivering a high quality student and family experience
• Takes child safety seriously and follows procedures closely
• Is flexible, reliable, and ready to jump in wherever needed

In this role, you will:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the site: schedules, ratios, staffing, and documentation
• Oversee/facilitate curriculum implementation and ensure activities meet program expectations
• Build a safe and inclusive environment aligned with licensing requirements and AlphaBEST standards
• Make child safety the top priority at all times
• Maintain licensing compliance, documentation, and readiness for inspections
• Track and manage site resources, attendance, and food program requirements
• Supervise and mentor your site team, providing coaching and feedback and ensuring training requirements are met
• Represent AlphaBEST with professionalism at school and community events
• Build strong relationships with families, school staff, and AlphaBEST leadership to support student success

This role is ideal for educators with experience in:

• Teaching or classroom leadership
• Youth programs
• Staff supervision or team leadership

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain)
• At least 3 years of experience in a school-age program or teaching setting preferred
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership and supervision preferred
• Ability to work in a classroom setting with regular bending and lifting (up to 25 pounds)
