Job summary

New Reach, Inc. in New Haven seeks a Site Coordinator to manage housing program activities and maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents. This evening shift (5:30PM–11:30PM, Monday–Friday) operates as part of a compassionate, mission-driven team.

You will collaborate with Case Managers and Management to promote stability and prevent homelessness while documenting incidents and coordinating with staff. A high school diploma and commitment to community service are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Knowledge of community resources and systems.
  • Demonstrated initiative, good judgment and self-direction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with clients.
  • Assertiveness, creativity and ability to work independently or with a team.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
  • Experience with homelessness preferred.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to women's issues (domestic violence, sexual abuse etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the activities of residents to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and guest(s).
  • Provide on-going support to residents when necessary.
  • Maintain written and oral communication of incidents in accordance with agency policies in shift turnover log.
  • Supervise and assist residents with daily cleanup.
  • Enforce New Reach policies and follows staff policies and procedures.
  • Monitor supplies and communicate needs to Program Manager(s).
  • Communicate with other staff and maintain the turnover log.
  • This position is considered essential and may require reporting to work during delays or closures.

Primary Purpose

The Site Coordinator (SC) is responsible for monitoring the activities of the agency property which include ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures, maintaining the safety of the residents and the security and cleanliness of the facility. The SC will work collaboratively with the other SCs, Case Managers, and Management to promote a safe and nurturing community environment. The SC is an essential position, which means that the job functions are necessary to conduct agency business even when the agency is not operating normally.

This position is for 5:30PM- 11:30PM, Monday through Friday.

  • This position is considered essential which means that the job functions are necessary to conduct agency business even when the agency is not operating normally. Employees designated as essential are expected to report to or remain at work when the agency has a delayed opening, early release, or closure.
