Job summary

Dewberry's Fairfax, Virginia office is seeking a Site/Civil Staff Engineer to support major public and institutional clients. The role focuses on civil design/land development including grading, roadway design, stormwater, water distribution, sanitary sewer, soil erosion control and utility design.

The selected candidate will mentor junior staff, prepare construction documents and reports, and ensure quality control and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in civil infrastructure design.
• FE certification required.
• Experience with graphics, exhibits and site/civil construction plans.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate site/civil design elements.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to deliver projects.
• Mentor entry-level staff and interns in Civil3D.
• Prepare construction documents, reports and cost estimates.

Dewberry is currently seeking a Site/Civil Staff Engineer to serve major public and institutional clients in our Fairfax, Virginia office. This position requires experience in civil design/land development activities including: grading, roadway design, storm water management systems design, water distribution and sanitary sewer design, soil erosion & sediment control and utility design. Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparation and coordination of site/civil design elements.
• Works closely with team members and the Project Manager to contribute to successful project delivery.
• Mentors entry-level staff and interns in the use of Civil3D.
• Prepares construction documents (including plans and specifications); technical reports; engineering analyses; and cost estimates.
• Executes assigned tasks in accordance with all quality control and assurance procedures.
• Confirms compliance with regulatory requirements and design standards.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering or proven equal experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to the design and execution of Civil Infrastructure Projects is required.
• FE required.
• Experience in the preparation of graphics, exhibits and Site/Civil Construction Plans.
• Strong technical expertise and capabilities in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $85,000-$109,000 annually in our Fairfax, VA office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
