Conrad Consulting Ltd, in partnership with a respected multi-discipline architecture/engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for their civil/site engineering group in Buffalo. Lead diverse civil and site projects across New York State, shaping the department and mentoring junior staff.
You will oversee site plans, grading, drainage, utilities, roadways and stormwater management, collaborating with clients and authorities to secure permits and approvals.

This role offers you the chance to lead diverse civil and site projects across New York State-spanning commercial, industrial, municipal, academic, institutional and residential developments-while shaping the direction of the department and mentoring junior staff.
Impactful work: Lead complex site design projects from concept through construction, applying your expertise in grading, drainage, utilities, pavement and stormwater management to projects that shape communities statewide.

Independently develop and oversee site plans, traffic circulation layouts, roadways, parking lots, utilities, grading and drainage systems, watershed models and design calculations.
Delegate tasks to junior staff, and review plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates for accuracy and completeness.
Perform technical and quality reviews of design work in accordance with company and client standards, and serve as Engineer of Record for projects under your supervision.
Coordinate with internal teams, clients and government agencies to secure permits and approvals, and conduct project investigations or construction support across New York State.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
At least six years of site design experience (eight to ten years preferred) and a New York State PE license.
Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil?3D and watershed modelling/hydrology tools (TR-55, TR-20, HydroCAD, Hydraflow Express or similar).
Demonstrated experience with NYS stormwater management and erosion/sediment control requirements, including SWPPP preparation and inspections, as well as local SEQR and environmental assessment processes.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; able to manage multiple assignments and mentor junior staff.
Knowledge of local utility standards; certifications such as CPESC, LEED?AP or ENV?SP are advantageous.
Previous experience in a multi-discipline A/E environment and a valid driver’s licence are required.
